Marriage Licenses
Requirements for
applying for a marriage license:
a. You apply at
whatever township the bride lives in.
b. The bride, groom
and 1 witness (18 years of age or older) who knows both the bride
and groom must attend to apply.
c.
If either the bride or groom has been divorced or widowed,
you must bring your signed divorce papers or a copy of the death
certificate when applying.
d.
Fee of $28.00.
e.
To complete the application, you must know the date of
marriage and the name and address of the person that will be
performing the ceremony.
f.
Once you have applied, there is a 72-hour waiting period
until you can pick up the license.
g. The license
expires 30 days from the date of issuance by the Registrar
CERTIFIED COPIES
OF MARRIAGE, DEATH AND BIRTH CERTIFICATES
Marriage, death and
birth certificates are kept on file in the Registrar’s Office in the
Township in which the event takes place.
If a marriage, death or
birth has taken place in Bordentown Township, you may request
certified copies from the Registrar’s Office. The charge for copies
is $4.00 per copy.
