New Jersey Natural Gas Pipeline: Public Notice, Special Meeting, Supporting Documents

PUBLIC NOTICE

Please take notice that the Pinelands Commission will hold a Special Meeting on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. The purpose of this meeting is to permit the public to provide oral comment concerning the Commission staff’s prior determination that the 12.1-mile, 30-inch, natural gas pipeline proposed by the New Jersey Natural Gas Company (NJNG), to be constructed within the rights-of-way of Ocean County Routes 539 & 547 (Pinelands Application No. 2014-0045.001), is consistent with the standards of the Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan.  This will be the public’s only opportunity to provide oral comment that will be included in the record for this matter. The application, as well as the record developed before the Board of Public Utilities during its consideration of NJNG’s petition in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:55D-19, is on file and available for inspection by appointment at the Pinelands Commission’s offices. Appointments may be scheduled by calling the Commission’s offices at (609) 894-7300.

This Special Meeting will be held at the Pine Belt Arena, 1245 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, New Jersey 08753. The doors to the arena will open at 9:00 a.m. and the meeting is expected to commence at 9:30 a.m.

Additionally, please note that the written comment period for this matter closes at 5:00 p.m. on August 2, 2017.

Following the close of the public comment period, the Commission staff will prepare a recommendation as to the continued validity of its prior consistency determination. A copy of this recommendation will be posted on the Commission’s website ten (10) days prior to the date of the Commission meeting at which the Commission will consider same.
