Do's and Don'ts of Solid Waste Collection:

  • Household trash is collected 2 times per week. The collection schedule consists of one collection route North of Ward Avenue on Monday and Thursday and a second collection on Tuesday and Friday South of Ward Avenue.
  • Residents should use metal or plastic containers with lids. Plastic containers with locking lids are preferable to prevent blowing litter and animals from getting into the refuse.
  • The containers should be no larger than 20 gallons and weigh no more than 40 pounds to avoid injury to the sanitation workers.
  • All solid waste is collected curbside between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm Containers should be at the curbside prior to 7:00am each collection day.

Solid Waste items to be collected:

  • Household garbage and trash
  • Lawn and yard debris
  • Grass and shrub clippings
  • Tree branches: Must be bundled and tied in four foot (4’) lengths, not to exceed 40 pounds.

Bulk Waste:

Bulk waste collection shall be every week on the second regularly scheduled collection day.

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. State Law prohibits the disposal of leaves with your household garbage or in storm drains. Please monitor where you place your leaves for collection so as to minimize the risk of leaves entering the storm sewer systems.
  2. The Township prefers that all residents rake their leaves to curbside for collection in order to maintain a timely schedule. Should residents prefer to bag their leaves; bags will be collected according to the above schedule after the completion of those areas.
  3. The machines used to pick up the leaves do make a substantial amount of noise and some dust depending on the moisture content in the leaves. We apologize for this inconvenience.
  4. If there are any unforeseen mechanical problems with our equipment we will make every effort to get back on schedule as soon as possible and we appreciate your cooperation.

For any questions or concerns, please contact the Department of Public Works: 609-291-2133
