The annual Health Fair was held on June 15, 2009 at the Senior Community Center. We had over 25 participants from the county, town, and area such as the Burlington County Health Department, Burlington County Clerk’s office, and Burlington Community Action Program. The other participants included Dr. Evans a chiropractor from the city of Bordentown. She brought a massage therapist who made herself available to our seniors. There were many representatives from Robert Wood Johnson programs such as colon care, anemia, and fitness. Capital Health had a nurse available for blood pressure checks, and a trauma section. The American Red Cross, Dedicated Senior Advisors, Dr. Beneviego, (chiropractic care), and the following home care groups were available: At senior care, Assurance, Prevention Plus, and Enable.
The Brandywine Senior Living facility joined our fair. The foot & ankle group in Bordentown was very informative.
Dr. Ethel Maria Wright was in the house for our seniors. She showcased her easy reading book that is a helpful tool to create a life of great faith, a healthy body and healthy mind that includes chart, helpful medical information and so much more. This was a very well attended event. The seniors that attended were very informed and pleasantly surprised with the medical knowledge and assistance that they received in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
I would like to thank our County Clerk, Tim Tyler who was our Distinguished Guest of Honor. He really took the time to get acquainted with our group. He gave one to one information to our seniors. We were grateful to have him in attendance. |
