The Bordentown Township Police Department wants its residents to be aware of a recent raccoon attack on a small child which occurred in a neighboring municipality. The child had been playing in the backyard of their home and was attacked by the raccoon without provocation or warning. The raccoon has since tested positive for rabies. Although this is an extremely rare incident, Township Police felt notification was warranted so that residents could take proper precautions. Please monitor your children when outdoors and immediately report any wild animals who exhibit aggressive or unusual activity.
