Your Township Government Update

In March, the Township welcomed Ethan Fayer as a new Township Police Officer.

In an effort to work more closely with neighboring municipalities, the Township Committee entered into a shared service agreement with the Fieldsboro & Bordentown City Municipal Courts to share the duties of a Court Administrator.

Township businesses are once again approved to continue outdoor dining subject to the Township’s safety conditions.

The Township Committee introduced the 2022 Municipal Budget. The proposed budget sets the municipal tax portion of property owner’s taxes to $.57 per $100 of assessed value. For the average Township home, the municipal portion of your tax bill will be $1,432.50. A public hearing on the budget will be held at the April 25, 2022 Township Committee meeting. It will be held in person in the Meeting Room/Courtroom of the Municipal Building, 1 Municipal Drive. At this time, tax payers and other interested parties can comment on the budget. Budget documents have been posted to the website.

March was also proclaimed as Women’s History Month.

Planning Board and Land Use Updates

In 2022, the Township Planning Board amended its Township Master Plan to include an Economic Development element to serve as the framework for new commercial activity along the highway corridors. The Economic Development element included recommendations which were also adopted as an addendum to the Land Use element of the Master Plan.
The Master Plan and the elements are posted on the website.

The Township Community Development Office has added a series of interactive Web Apps to its webpage to provide residents with easily accessible information. These can be found here. It is anticipated that additional interactive applications will be made available as the year progresses.
