Spotted Lanternfly Education & Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 19

The Bordentown City and Township Environmental Commissions will sponsor a Spotted Lanternfly Education and Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 19 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Bordentown Beach. Entomologist Eugene M. Fuzy will present information and be there to answer questions.

A paper shredding event will be held on Sunday, March 20 at the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex. Burlington County residents only. View the flyer for more details.

Bordentown Township Shredder Day
Saturday, May 7

Mark your calendars! Bordentown Township’s Shredder Day is taking place on Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. - Noon at the Township’s Public Works Garage.

Bordentown City and Township residents can prepare for Shredder Day by reviewing the below safety guidelines:

  1. Remove anything you don't want shredded before arriving.
  2. Things should be clearly labeled or obvious as to what is to be shredded.
  3. We request all papers to be shredded are placed in the trunk or rear of the car.
  4. Stay in your car during the entire process.
  5. Upon being signaled, please open the trunk to allow the volunteers access to the paper.
  6. Anything you want to be returned to your car should clearly be labeled as such.
  7. Once we are done with your car you will exit by Derby Firehouse, once safe to do so.

Please be reminded that Shredder Day is for household shredding only – no businesses!

Bordentown Township Vaccination Site

COVID vaccine clinics are taking place this March in Bordentown Township. Clinics will take place each Thursday from Noon to 6 p.m. at the Senior Center located at 3 Municipal Drive. Walk-ins welcome. Call for appointment: 1-844-569-0390.

Burlington County Mega-Site

The Burlington County Mega-Site has reopened for vaccination and booster doses for those 5 and older. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Learn more and schedule your appointment.

Complete the registration form above, which will ask for an address and preferred method of contact. Residents can select to be notified on a home phone or cell phone, by text message or email. Bordentown’s Community Garden has limited plots available for rent. Renters must follow organic practices and rules. Plots are available on a first come, first serve basis. Fee is $25. Email [email protected] to reserve your spot.

Mark Your Calendars – Rain Barrel Workshop
Saturday, April 23

Make your own rain barrel and learn how to install it at the upcoming Rain Barrel Workshop on Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. - Noon. The workshop will take place at the Carslake Community Center’s Senior Room, located at 209 Crosswicks Road. Registration is required and is $45 – covering the cost of materials. Sponsored by the Bordentown City and Township Environmental Commissions, and the Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Limited spots available. Sumedha Rao

Sumedha Rao moved to the United States in 2001 and lived in Long Island, New York, now residing in Skillman, New Jersey.

Sumedha has been married for 21 years to her husband, Sudesh and together they have a son Rohan, and a daughter Alisha.

She began her banking career with Fleet/Bank of America in 2002 and more recently with Berkshire Bank, working in the Treasury Management Office for both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Sumedha has both a Bachelor and Master degree in Finance. In 2021, Sumedha was appointed as the Treasurer for Bordentown Township.

Sumedha loves traveling and reading. She also enjoys the beach, hiking and other activities where her whole family is involved.
