Welcome to the October edition of the Bordentown Township Banner!
Our goal is to keep residents, friends and neighbors informed
about the latest Township news and events.


Voting Information

All registered voters should have received the official mail-in ballot for the upcoming General Election. There are 4 ways to return your ballot:

  1. By mail
  2. Drop off at the Board of Elections
  3. Drop off at a secure ballot box
  4. Deliver to your polling place on November 3

The other option is to vote provisionally at the polls. Click here for details on each of the voting options.


October 2020 Hydrant Flushing Schedule

Please review the 2020 Hydrant Flushing schedule, affecting Bordentown City and Township residents, taking place this October. View the complete schedule.

Your water may be rusty or brown after the flush. Do not run your washing machine or dishwasher on these days during working hours.

Additional Tips:

  • By-pass your RO unit or house water filter
  • Disable your automatic icemakers
  • For those that keep saltwater fish, do not make any saltwater if your system is set to auto tap off
  • Run your water after the flush until clear
  • Use your tub or laundry sink for the flush  
  • Use cold water first

Please also note that the Water Department works between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Delaware River Waterfront Purchase

Bordentown Township Officials are proud to announce that the Township has purchased approximately 72 acres of property along the Delaware River that was previously slated for high-density housing.

The property, once part of the Bordentown Waterfront Development project, is now planned for dedicated public open space, wildlife preservation, and environmental conservation.

Leaf Collection Update

Please be advised that leaf collection begins in November. Click here for more information on the collection process.


Brush Pick-up Update

Bordentown Township’s brush pick-up will end from November through January. The last day for scheduled brush pick-up is October 27. Brush can always be dropped off by residents at the Public Works site at 266 Crosswicks Road. Click here for more information and to schedule your pick-up.


News from the Bordentown
Township Environmental Commission

George C. Hamilton, Ph.D., Chair of Rutgers Entomology and the Bordentown and Chesterfield Township Environmental Commissions will host a discussion on the Spotted Lanternfly on Tuesday, October 20 at 6 p.m. via ZOOM. Dr. Hamilton will offer a presentation centering on the biology, current distribution, concern, and possible management strategies for the newest invasive insect species, the Spotted Lanternfly. Meet Your Township Employee
Rachel Fisher

Rachel grew up in Springfield Township, New Jersey and attended Northern Burlington Regional High School as a member of the class of 2010. Rachel continued her education by attending Monmouth University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Graphic Design. She has been employed with Bordentown Township as the Tax/Account Clerk since March of 2020.

Rachel is responsible for processing tax payments and assisting taxpayers with any questions or concerns that they have regarding their taxes. In addition to her duties in the Tax Department, she assists in maintaining the records for the Finance Department.

Rachel loves to go down the shore, hang out with her friends and play with her dog, Perry.
