Bordentown Township Affordability Assistance
The Township of Bordentown offers rental and for-sale affordability assistance grants to moderate-, low- and very low-income households. The affordability assistance offered includes payment of moving expenses, rent subsidy for first month’s rent, utility deposit assistance, down payment assistance, payment of closing costs, and payment of lender fees. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applicants for rental affordability assistance must meet the following eligibility criteria:
The applicant rents or is seeking to rent a deed restricted affordable unit in Bordentown Township as their primary residence.
The applicant is income certified. Applicants applying for first month’s rent will have already been income certified. Applicants applying for all other types of assistance will require income certification at the time of application. A copy of the certification must be provided.
The applicant has not received an affordability assistance grant in the past (only one award per household is permitted. This requirement can be waived with justification).
Applicants for for-sale affordability assistance must meet the following eligibility criteria:
The home being purchased is an affordable unit in Bordentown Township to be maintained as the applicant’s primary residence. Applicants cannot own any other real estate at the time of application.
The applicant is income-certified and must provide a copy of the certification. Applicants must also be credit worthy and not mortgage more than three (3) times their gross annual income.
The applicant has not received an affordability assistance grant in the past (only one award per household is permitted. This requirement can be waived with justification).
