Your Township Community Development UpdatesAt its August 10 meeting, the Planning Board approved resolutions and minutes of previous meetings and approved a bulk variance application for the property owner of 1 Sagamore Lane for the installation of a fence within the required setback. This month, The Board will meet on September 14 and 28. At the first September meeting, the Township Engineer will present an updated Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) element of the Township Master Plan. An updated OSRP allows for the Township to obtain grants and reimbursement funds through the NJDEP Green Acres program. At the September 28 meeting, an Area in Need of Redevelopment study will be presented to determine if Block 123.01 Lot 3 meets the statutory requirements for an area in need of redevelopment designation. Lightning Safety ReminderWhen Thunder Roars, Go Indoors! Due to the recent increased number of thunderstorms, Bordentown Township would like to remind everyone about lightning safety. Whether you’re spending the day at the beach or an afternoon at the pool, gather your things and seek shelter at the first sign of a storm. By the time you hear thunder or see lightning, you’re already in danger. You do not want to be the tallest object in an open field or stand under a tall tree. Learn more by visiting weather.gov/safety/lightning. |
