Winter Weather Advisory

Due to the current weather conditions the Township would like to remind all residents of the following:

1) Please refrain from parking any vehicles on roadways that have been marked as snow evacuation routes. Failure to comply may result in the vehicles being towed at the owners expense and ordinances being issued, resulting in fines.

2) Please park all vehicles, when possible, in driveways to allow the Public Works Department the ability to properly clear all roadways sufficiently. Your assistance in helping the crew clear the roadways to the best of their ability is greatly appreciated.

3) Please refrain from blowing or shoveling any snow back into the roadways after they have been plowed. Failure to comply may result in ordinances being issued, resulting in fines. Ensure that all snow removed from your sidewalks and driveways remains on your property.

The plow drivers are doing their best to make the roadways passable for everyone as quickly and safely as possible, due to the amount of snow, they are not able to clear everyone's driveway opening for them after it has been plowed. The responsibility belongs to the homeowner.

The Township understands the difficulty the current weather conditions pose to everyone. With everyone's cooperation, we can work together to make the situation as bearable as possible, and ensure that the best services are able to be provided to all residents.

The administrator shall examine such certification and if found to be correct shall cause such cost to be charged against the real estate abutting or bordering upon such sidewalks or streets and the amount so charged shall forthwith become a lien upon such real estate or land and be added to, recorded, collected and enforced in the same manner as provided for collection of taxes due or to become due upon such premises and shall bear interest at the rate of 8% per annum. The imposition and collection of a fine or other penalty for violation of this chapter shall not constitute a bar to the right of the township to collect the cost, as certified, of the removal of the snow or ice in the manner herein authorized.

12.24.040 Violations—penalties.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to the penalty set forth in Chapter 1.08.
