A passionate group of students from Bordentown Regional High School has taken a stand in response to recent budget cuts impacting local schools. The student-led movement, known as Fund Our Future, was formed to raise awareness about the consequences of these cuts on teachers, staff, and student programs.
Kara Parker, Sierra Struck, and Kashika Manak have worked diligently to educate their peers on the proposed changes, coordinated efforts with school officials, and organized peaceful protests to voice their concerns. Their advocacy has been a regular and vocal presence at Board of Education meetings, where they have shared personal stories and called for reconsideration of the budget decisions.
At a recent Township Committee meeting, student leaders were honored for their leadership and dedication. Committee members praised their composure and commitment to civic engagement.
“These students represent the heart of our community — engaged, informed, and unafraid to speak up for their future,” said Mayor Eric Holliday. “We commend them for their courage, maturity, and dedication to making their voices heard.”
The Township continues to support open dialogue from residents of all ages, and applauds the students’ commitment to advocacy and education.
