On Monday, July 21, 2025, the Bordentown Township Committee unanimously passed a resolution in support of the New Jersey Green Amendment, joining dozens of municipalities across the state advocating for stronger environmental protections.
This proposed constitutional amendment would guarantee every New Jerseyan the right to clean air, pure water, and a healthy environment. If adopted, it would hold the State legally accountable for both action and inaction, ensuring that our natural resources are safeguarded not only today, but for generations to come.
“Clean water, breathable air, thriving ecosystems, and beautiful natural spaces are part of what makes our community special,” said Mayor Eric Holliday. “Protecting our environment isn’t optional...it’s essential.”
Bordentown’s resolution, passed unanimously at the July 21 Township Committee Meeting, affirms support for SCR-43 and ACR-119 and aligns the Township with a growing list of New Jersey communities in favor of enshrining environmental rights at the constitutional level.
In attendance at the meeting to mark the occasion were representatives from the Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA) and the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC), along with members of the Township Committee.
