In June, 2025, Bordentown Township reached an agreement with the property owner of Bradford Pointe to preserve long-term affordability for 168 housing units, ensuring that residents who call the development home will continue to have access to stable, affordable housing for years to come.
Located at the intersection of Burlington Bordentown Road (CR 662) and U.S. Route 130 South, Bradford Pointe is a 100% affordable housing community that has long played a critical role in helping the Township meet its state-mandated affordable housing obligations. Originally developed to fulfill requirements from the Prior Round (1987–1999), the property generated surplus affordable housing credits that were carried into the current Third Round (1999–2025).
But without action, the protections keeping those homes affordable were set to expire in just a few years. Without intervention, the property owner would have had the option to phase out affordability protections during the upcoming Fourth Round (2025–2035).
Thanks to the proactive efforts of both the Township and the property owner, those protections will now be extended, allowing the Township to count the units toward future housing obligations, while most importantly, preserving homes for the 168 families currently living there.
“This isn’t just about housing numbers or state requirements,” said Mayor Eric Holliday. “This is about real people -- families, seniors, and veterans -- who now have peace of mind knowing their rent won’t suddenly become unaffordable. It’s about doing what’s right for the community we all care about.”
For many residents, Bradford Pointe is more than a housing development; it’s where their children go to school, where they’ve built lasting relationships with neighbors, and where they’ve found comfort and stability.
By extending affordability protections, Bordentown Township is reinforcing its commitment to responsible planning, community stability, and protecting opportunities for working families and vulnerable populations.
