Volunteer of the Month: Bryan Branson

When it comes to service, dedication, and heart for community, few names shine brighter than Bryan Branson.

Bryan’s journey began in 1968, when he received his draft notice while studying engineering. Instead, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and soon found himself stationed at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam, where he maintained refueling equipment and hauled fuel convoys to outlying helicopter bases — work that quite literally kept aircraft in the air. For his outstanding service and exceeding the assigned goals, Bryan was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.

After returning home, Bryan continued serving at McGuire AFB, eventually becoming a Staff Sergeant in charge of the refueling maintenance group, before later joining the New Jersey Army National Guard’s 50th Armored Division for another 8 years. His career back home included decades in the trucking industry with Kenworth and Caterpillar, always focused on service, innovation, and reliability.

But Bryan’s greatest legacy is the way he continues to serve today. As Chairman of the Bordentown Township Veterans Advisory Committee, he advocates tirelessly for local veterans, connecting them with vital resources and support. He’s a life member of the VFW, Disabled Veterans of America, and several other organizations, and as President of the Armed Forces Heritage Museum, he helps keep military history alive for future generations.

Beyond his titles and accomplishments, Bryan is a devoted husband, father, and proud grandfather. A true family man, he balances his deep love for family with his unwavering dedication to his community. His leadership, both past and present, is a reminder of what true service looks like — in uniform and at home.

We are honored to celebrate Bryan Branson as our Volunteer of the Month. Thank you, Bryan, for your service, your leadership, and your continued commitment to the Bordentown Township community.
