Congratulations to Michael James Kelly, a Bordentown Township resident and senior at Bordentown Regional High School, on earning the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 13.
For his Eagle Scout project, Michael constructed bat holders for six baseball and softball fields at Joseph Lawrence Park and Northern Community Park, creating organized storage for players and teams who use the fields throughout the season. With help from fellow Scouts, the project took 50 hours to complete and was funded through a GoFundMe campaign that raised $1,380. After purchasing materials, Michael generously donated the remaining funds to Bordentown Little League.
Michael is also a member of his school’s Don’t Text and Drive Club, enjoys basketball and cooking for his family, and plans to attend Stockton University in Fall 2026 to study Criminal Justice.
At the March 23rd Township Committee Meeting, Michael was presented with a proclamation from Mayor Aneka A. Miller delivered by Deputy Mayor Eugene M. Fuzy recognizing his service and contributions to the community.
“As Mayor, it is always inspiring to see young residents step forward to make a difference,” said Mayor Miller. “Michael’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to giving back to his community embody the true spirit of what it means to be an Eagle Scout. Bordentown Township is proud of his accomplishments.”
Congratulations, Michael, and best wishes for continued success in the future.
