Digital Wellness: Helping Families Navigate the Online World

Detective Adam Edwards from the Bordentown Township Police Department, alongside Mrs. Jodie Glenn from the Bordentown Regional School District, recently led a Digital Wellness presentation for parents and caregivers—focused on what kids are actually navigating online, and how we can better support them.

From screen time to social media to AI, the conversation covered a lot—but the goal was simple: give families tools that feel practical, not overwhelming.

If you weren’t able to attend (or want to keep the conversation going at home), we’re sharing a few helpful resources:

• Fairplay’s Online Harms Prevention Action Kit (AI, gaming, screen use + more)https://fairplayforkids.org/pf/onlineharmskit/

• The American Academy of Pediatrics’ “5 C’s of Media Guidance:" A helpful, age-based approach to navigating screen time with kids: https://bit.ly/3OhhMRt

• The Mental Health Coalition’s “Time Well Spent Challenge”https://www.thementalhealthcoalition.org/time-well-spent/
