Bordentown Township Fire District No. 2 recently gathered to recognize the individuals whose dedication, courage, and commitment continue to make a difference in the community every day.
During the annual awards ceremony, the District honored firefighters, officers, and community members for their years of service, life-saving actions, leadership, and commitment to serving others during some of life’s most difficult moments.
“This ceremony is about recognizing the people who continue to show up — for their neighbors, for each other, and for strangers in their worst moments,” the District shared. “Their service and sacrifice make this community stronger.”
This year’s award recipients included:
• Commissioner Andrew Law — Recognition Award
• Captain Keith Scully (retired) — Career Achievement Citation for 20 years of service
• Lieutenant Greg Askenstedt — Career Achievement Citation for 20 years of service
• Captain Kyle Asbrand — Meritorious Service Citation for his successful grant program efforts
• Lieutenant James Krzewinski, Firefighter Michael McDonald, and Firefighter Alec Fleming — Unit Citation for their response to the May 4, 2025 mass casualty incident
• Lieutenant James Krzewinski, Firefighter Brock Friddell, and Firefighter Scott Seybert — EMS Citation for a CPR save on May 22, 2024
• Firefighter Brock Friddell, Firefighter Michael McDonald, and Firefighter Alec Fleming — EMS Citation for a CPR save on April 10, 2025
• Captain Keith Scully, Lieutenant James Krzewinski, Firefighter Brock Friddell, and Firefighter Patrick McCloskey — EMS Citation for a CPR save on June 4, 2025
The ceremony served as a reminder of the critical role first responders play in protecting the community and supporting residents during emergencies. From decades of service to life-saving emergency response efforts, each honoree was recognized for going above and beyond in service to Bordentown Township.
