It started with a vision… and a patch of ground.
Back on October 15, 2024, we gathered together for a groundbreaking that marked the beginning of something much bigger than a construction project. It was the result of years of planning, conversations, and a shared understanding that our Township had outgrown its space — and that our community deserved more.
This week, we proudly hung a plaque in our now-standing municipal building — a reminder of the day it all began. A simple piece, but one that holds so much meaning. It marks the day we officially turned the page and began building toward the future of Bordentown Township.
It also stands as a tribute to former Mayor Stephen Benowitz, whose leadership and dedication to this community helped bring this vision to life. His impact is part of this foundation — and always will be.
From that first shovel in the ground to the progress you see today, this project has always been about service, growth, and community.
And it’s happening, folks. Stay tuned for the next exciting phase — furniture is on the way, and we’ll be moving in soon!

Make your voice heard! ✨

It’s that time again, Bordentown… chicken season! With spring around the corner, this is your annual reminder about the rules for keeping backyard chickens in Bordentown Township. Quick refresher: • 4-12 hens allowed depending on lot size (no roosters) • Slaughtering is prohibited • Coops must be enclosed and located in the backyard only • Chickens may roam for up to 2 hours per day (fenced area + supervision) • Property must be at least 10,000 sq ft If you already have chickens — or are planning to get some this season — your Township chicken license must be obtained by April 1st. More info here: https://www.bordentowntownship.com/o/bordentown/page/licenses Thinking about hens this year? We’re happy to help residents do it the right way.

Northern Community Park will be temporarily closed the week of March 23 while our crews finish up a few final improvements.
We know the park is a favorite spot for many in the community, and we truly appreciate your patience while this work is completed. Taking this short pause helps keep everyone safe and allows our team to wrap things up more quickly.
Thank you for your understanding — we can’t wait to have everyone back out enjoying the park soon!

Clean water matters to all of us. The Bordentown Sewerage Authority works year-round to protect the waterways shared by the City of Bordentown and Bordentown Township—and to safeguard public health along the way.
City and Township residents are invited to join us for this committee meeting, learn more about the work being done (https://bordentownsa.org/), and be part of the conversation.
