553 neighbors took our Master Plan Community Visioning Survey, and we want to start by saying thank you. Two out of three of you have lived in the Township for more than 10 years. That’s a lot of experience, and it showed in your answers.
Here’s what we heard:
What you love: your neighborhoods, our low crime rate, easy highway access, local shops and restaurants, and our parks.
What’s frustrating you: the cost of living, new construction, traffic, and not enough shopping close to home.
What you want to see: a bigger grocery store, more retail options, places to play and hang out, and sit-down restaurants.
So, what happens with all of this? Your answers help shape the Master Plan, which guides how the Township grows over the next decade. The Township can’t tell property owners what to build, but it can set zoning that makes Bordentown Township a place where the businesses you want are welcome. Your feedback also tells us where to focus on parks, trails, walkability, and protecting the green space you care about.
We also read a lot of comments about things the Township doesn’t control, like school taxes, state highways, neighboring towns and the data center across the river in Pennsylvania. That’s fair. It isn’t always clear who handles what. So, over the next few weeks, we’ll break it down one topic at a time, starting with where your tax dollar actually goes.
Stay tuned for public meetings, where you’ll see the plan take shape and can tell what you think in person. We want to see you there, and we want to keep hearing from you.

You hear us talk about Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3 all the time. But what exactly does that mean, and how do you know which zone you're in?
It's actually pretty simple! Your bulk pickup zone is based on your regular trash collection day.
Here's how to figure it out:
Tuesday trash pickup = Zone 1
Wednesday trash pickup = Zone 2
Thursday trash pickup = Zone 3
Now that you know your zone, here's when to put those bulk items out:
📅 Zone 1: 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month
📅 Zones 2 & 3: 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month
Please note: Bulk pickup schedules exclude holidays.
That's it! Just remember your regular trash day, and you'll always know your bulk pickup zone.

On Saturday, November 7 at 11:00 AM, we’ll gather at the Bordentown Township Senior Center (3 Municipal Drive) to honor the Veterans who have served our country and continue to make a difference in our community.
This year, we are proud to recognize our 2026 Hometown Hero, Lt. Col. Amy Glatz, U.S. Army (Ret.), a longtime Bordentown Township resident whose more than 27 years of distinguished military service and continued dedication to our community embody the spirit of a hometown hero.
The ceremony will feature remarks from Mayor Aneka Miller, Congressman Herb Conaway, Senator Troy Singleton, Assemblyman Balvir Singh, and Assemblywoman Carol Murphy, along with a keynote address from Command Sergeant Major Stonnie Bell Jr.
We'll also be joined by some familiar faces from our community, including:
• Aidan Gould, who will perform the National Anthem and "God Bless America."
• Deacon Tom Shea, who will offer the Invocation and Benediction.
• Boy Scout Troop 13 and Cub Scout Pack 65, who will participate in the wreath-laying ceremony alongside Mayor Miller and Veterans Advisory Committee Chairman Bryan Branson.
A special moment in the program will be the presentation of our Hometown Hero recognition by Mayor Miller to Lt. Col. Glatz.
Whether you're a Veteran, a military family member, or simply a neighbor who wants to show support, we hope you'll join us.
Let's come together as a community to honor those who have worn the uniform, remember their sacrifices, and show our Veterans just how much their service means to Bordentown.

The Copycat uses your personal info to open accounts in your name. The best defense is free: freeze your credit with Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. If it happens to you, IdentityTheft.gov walks you through what to do next.

TRAFFIC ALERT: MUNICIPAL DRIVE ROAD CLOSURE
Heads up, Bordentown! Roadwork is scheduled on Municipal Drive this week, so please plan accordingly if you’re visiting the Municipal Building.
Here’s what you need to know:
🚧 Wednesday, October 28: Municipal Drive will be closed in BOTH directions from Farnsworth Avenue to the Municipal Building/Senior Center entrance for road milling.
🚧 Friday, October 30: Paving is scheduled along Municipal Drive, with additional traffic disruptions expected.
The Municipal Building will remain OPEN and accessible! Residents and visitors should access the property via Route 206.
Please allow a little extra travel time and use caution when driving or walking near the construction area. Personnel will be on-site to assist.
