🚨 Water Main Flushing Notice – TODAY, July 16 🚨 The City of Bordentown Water Department will be flushing the water system on Wednesday, July 16 from 1–3 PM around Rt. 206, Heiser Ave, Bywater and Hilltop neighborhoods following a water main repair. 💧 You may notice temporary discoloration or low pressure—this is normal. The water is safe, and running your taps will help clear it. 🛁 Please avoid laundry and showers during the flushing window. After 3PM, we recommend running your hot water (for 10 minutes) and cold water taps (for 5 minutes) and cleaning your faucet aerators to remove any sediment. Questions? Important Announcement
Flooding can happen fast — and sometimes with little warning. Even if you’re not in a high-risk area, heavy rain or sudden storms can overwhelm drains and cause dangerous conditions. The good news? A little preparation now can make a big difference later. Here are 4 ways to get ready before the next storm hits: 1️⃣ Know your risk. Check if your area has a history of flooding and make sure you’re familiar with local evacuation routes. Stay tuned to weather alerts when rain is in the forecast. 2️⃣ Protect your property. Clean out gutters and storm drains, bring in anything outdoors that could float or blow away, and move valuables out of basements. If you’re able, elevate electrical equipment off the ground. 3️⃣ Make a go-bag. Keep key items ready in case you need to leave quickly — like documents, medications, a flashlight, a phone charger, snacks, water, and pet supplies. 4️⃣ Don’t risk it. Floodwater is more dangerous than it looks. Just 6 inches can knock you down, and 12 inches can sweep away a car. Never drive or walk through flooded roads — Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Take a few minutes now to get storm-ready. Your future self will thank you. 📩 Have questions? 🚫 Parking on Your Lawn? Here’s Why It’s a No-Go We get it — sometimes the driveway fills up. But parking on the grass isn’t just tough on your lawn — it’s also a Township violation that can result in a fine. Lately, we’ve noticed more vehicles being parked on front lawns, and we want to kindly remind everyone: please avoid parking on the grass. It can cause long-term damage like dead patches, soil compaction, erosion, and even fire hazards from hot exhaust systems during dry weather. It’s also an environmental concern. Parking on grass disrupts natural drainage, harms root systems, and leaking fluids can contaminate the soil. Let’s keep our neighborhoods safe, green, and looking their best. Please park on paved driveways or designated parking areas only. Questions? Give us a call at (609) 298-2800 (x2199) — we’re here to help.

If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind those helpful development maps, Planning Board updates, or the steady hand keeping our growth on track — meet Mark Siegle, Bordentown Township’s Director of Community Development. Mark brings years of planning experience to the Township, having previously served in New Brunswick and Asbury Park before joining us in 2021. He’s the guy making it easier for residents to understand what’s being built, what’s being planned, and how it all fits into our community. From overseeing the Township’s development portal to representing us in the Burlington County Joint Insurance Fund, Mark’s got a hand in a little bit of everything. A proud Rutgers grad (twice over!), Mark lives right next door in Bordentown City with his wife and daughter. When he’s not keeping development organized behind the scenes, you can find him spending time with family, staying active, or passionately supporting his beloved West Ham United — win or lose. Have a question for Mark? Email him directly at m.siegle@bordentowntwp.org.
