Meet A Member of Your Township: Angel Sauro 🌟 If you know Bordentown Township, chances are you know Angel Sauro -- because for the past 25 years, she’s been the glue that holds us all together. As Confidential Aide to the Mayor, Angel wears many hats, but at the heart of it all she’s the momma bear of our community. She makes sure our seniors feel supported, our families have special traditions to look forward to, and our Township runs with both care and heart. From senior outreach and wellness programs to beloved community events like the Egg Hunt, Fishing Derby, Fall Festival, Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies, wellness clinics, and so many more -- Angel’s fingerprints are on nearly every gathering that brings us together. She has a gift for creating moments that feel both meaningful and full of joy, the kind of memories that stick with families for years. Outside of Township life, Angel has been married to her husband, Johnny, for 41 years and is the proud mom of Jenna, Julianna, and Jon. She’s also spent nearly three decades teaching Religious Education, serves with the Legion of Mary, and finds joy in cooking, baking, making candy, and celebrating every holiday in style. When she’s not doing all of that, you’ll probably find her with a good book or enjoying a walk in nature. Angel is more than a trusted colleague and community leader; she’s family to all of us in Bordentown Township. And if you ask us, she’s not only our momma bear… she’s literally an Angel. 💙

Sharing for our friends at the Bordentown Hometown Hero Foundation.

The BHHF Challenge Run returns on September 21, 2025 at Joseph Lawrence Park—and this year, it’s dedicated to supporting our local veterans.

Too often, veterans face high out-of-pocket therapy fees for routine care not covered by insurance. These costs can add up and deter them from getting the consistent support they need. To make sure our veterans in Bordentown can access care for PTSD and other mental health challenges, this year’s run has set a goal to raise $5,000 for financial assistance.

Hosted in partnership with Bordentown SPARTAN Bootcamp and Sharing Temple Counseling LLC, this event is all about community standing together for those who’ve given so much.

➡️ Please consider registering, donating, or sharing to help us hit our goal!

We’ve been spotting more recyclables in plastic bags lately. While it might seem helpful, plastic bags actually cause big problems at the recycling center — they get tangled in the machines and slow everything down. 👉 The best way to help? Place your recyclables straight into the bin, nice and loose. Thanks for doing your part to keep recycling moving!
