Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is hosting their Annual Retiree Appreciation Day on Saturday, April 18 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Timmerman Center.
It’s a great opportunity to connect with vendors, speak directly with Veterans Affairs and Tricare representatives, and even renew your ID card -- all in one place.

Calling all Bordentown Township Residents!
Join our Low Mow initiative and help protect native pollinators and wildlife. By delaying your first lawn cut until after May 8th and raising your mower blades, you can make a big difference for the bees, birds, and other beneficial insects that call our community home.
Fewer cuts = Deeper roots + More food for pollinators + Less
yard waste!
This voluntary program is a simple way to support our environment while keeping your yard looking great. Our non-athletic Township fields are participating too!

The Bordentown Township Veterans Advisory Committee is hosting a Veterans Resource Information Session with representatives from Burlington County Veteran Services, who will be there to walk through available programs, services, and answer any questions you may have.

Whether you’re looking for guidance, support, or simply want to learn what’s available, all veterans, family members, and interested residents are welcome to attend.

Think you’ve got what it takes to train like a pro? The 2026 Youth Police Academy is back this summer from July 13-17 — and Bordentown Township and City Police Departments are pleased to announce that applications are now OPEN!
Past academies have included physical training, tours of the police departments, meeting police K-9s, trainings in handcuffing, crime scene processing, animal control, hands-on exercises and visits from the New Jersey State Police and Bordentown firefighters.
All applicants must be between the ages of 11-17; be able to attend ALL days of the Academy subject to school background check.

A quick heads up, Bordentown, hydrant flushing is kicking off this week in the Township. The City of Bordentown Water Department will begin flushing in Bordentown Township first TOMORROW, Tuesday, April 7 through Thursday, April 9 from 7AM to 5PM.
Bordentown City will follow the next week, April 14 through April 16 during the same hours.
It’s one of those routine things you might not think about, but it helps keep our water clean, clear, and running the way it should.
While it’s happening, you might notice lower pressure or some rusty looking water. Totally temporary, but here are a few easy ways to avoid any issues:
• Skip laundry and dishwashers during flushing hours
• Bypass water filters or RO systems for now
• Turn off automatic ice makers
• Hold off on using tap water for saltwater fish tanks
• After flushing, run cold water from your tub or laundry sink until it clears
Thanks for your patience while this gets done. It’s all part of keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Doing a little spring cleaning in the yard?
Keeping leaves separate from brush helps our crews keep things moving and protects the equipment used for pickup. When mixed into brush piles, leaves can clog and damage the wood chipper, which can slow things down.
Not sure what to do with those leftover leaves? You’ve got a few easy options:
• Bring them to Public Works (266 Crosswicks Rd) and place them in the leaf bin -- loose leaves only, please (no bags)
• Compost them (great for garden beds)
• Use them as natural mulch around trees and plants

A little bunny update… our Easter Bunny just let us know he’s hopping over to a new spot (and time!) this year!
With upgrades still underway at Northern Community Park, it’s not quite ready for all the egg-hunting fun just yet—so the Bunny made a quick pivot.
Bordentown Township’s 11th Annual Easter Egg Hunt will now take place at JOSEPH LAWRENCE PARK at 10:30 AM—same fun, just a new field for all those eggs to land!
You know how busy this time of year gets, but he promises it’ll be just as festive, fun, and full of surprises.
When: Saturday, April 4th
Time: Both hunts start PROMPTLY at 10:30 AM!
Age Groups & Locations:
• Ages 2-3: Hunt for eggs in the grassy area nearest to the pavilion (parent must be present!)
• Ages 4-9: Hunt for eggs in the grassy area around the baseball field
Don’t forget:
• Bring your own basket or bag to collect candy-filled eggs!
• Keep an eye out for Golden Eggs hidden throughout the field! Find one and win a giant Easter basket filled with goodies (golden eggs must be returned to the registration table to claim your prize).

ORDINANCE UPDATE
Effective immediately, backyard chickens are now permitted to roam in front yards between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
For safety, all hens MUST wear reflective vests while out and about.
We appreciate your cooperation as we continue to keep Bordentown safe and… stylish.
